Hyderabad will have India's largest cable bridge in less than an year. As of now, The 144-metre cable bridge in Gujarat's Baruch District holds this record. Pearl City will emerge as No.1 in this category by March 2019.
Works of Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge have been progressing a brisk pace. This 754.38 metre bridge is being constructed with a budget of Rs 184 crore.
Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge not only prevents traffic issues in Madhapur and Jubilee Hills route but also becomes a tourist attraction. Cables required for the bridge have been imported from Austria.
GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy expressed happiness over the progress of the works. He informed, 'The main bridges length will be 25 meters and it would be at 6.5 meters height. Laying of 13 foundations and construction 12 pillars has been done so far'.
