There is a strong criticism that Telugu people don't have love towards their mother tongue as other people do. If we take Tamil Nadu as an example, people love their language. Telugu is the official language of two Telugu states. But the majority of Government Orders and other notices are issued in English.

When there were many doubts and concerns about the language and its future, the High Court took a historic decision and gave the verdict in Telugu. Besides giving the verdict in Telugu, the High Court also gave the verdict in English. The unexpected move surprised many.

Going into details, a division bench of the Telangana High Court comprising Justice P Naveen Rao and Justice Nagesh Bheemapaka was hearing a petition of land disputes between two brothers. The bench gave the verdict in Telugu on the plea. The verdict was very wrong which was in Telugu.

This can be seen as a historic stint as the High Court delivered the verdict in Telugu for the convenience of everyone. As the High Court of Telangana gave the verdict in Telugu, we can expect that the coming verdicts might also be in the mother tongue.

It has to be mentioned here that the verdict was given by the High Court of Telangana. Andhra Pradesh High Court is yet to do this. If the AP High Court also does this then it would be more significant.

The court systems we are having now were started by the British in the country and English has been the mode of instruction and debate over the decades. However, things are changing now and courts are giving verdicts in regional languages.
