Many times we hear about China being the strongest Military force in South Asia and India should be worried about them before taking any move. Even Pakisthan has started looking to form an alliance with China, in order to counter the Indian aggression. The so called experts in India too, try to bring up the 1962 Indo-China war and remind us to be careful with Chinese military.
Well, while we agree that 1962 war should be remembered then there was 1967 war too, where Indian forces were able to successful contain the Chinese aggression and in fact, give such an answer to them that the country has never planned to invade into Indian territories after that.
In 1967, China being the most powerful military force with many soldiers and also new warfare, thought about invading the Sikkim territory of India and there by sending a big signal to the big countries of Europe and America that they are the biggest threat in Asia.
They established bunkers on Nathula pass near Gangtok in Sikkim in order to capture the Indian territory of the state. China always thought Nepal and North-Eastern States of India to be their own territories and even secretly encouraged terrorist activities during the time. But Indian Government understood the evil plans of China and warned China about their actions.
China, overpowered by it's ego did not care about the warning and Indian soldiers bravely fought with the Chinese contingent over 4 days and China had to relive their attack and sign peace treaty with India. In the war, India lost 88 men while China lost more than 450 soldiers.
India approached the war with a positive mindset and tactically overpowered Chinese aggression. If 1962 was a lesson then 1967 cannot be forgotten as well. So, to all those who fear China too much, India can contain China and if the need arises will contain them without any doubt. Even though such brave act of Indian Army should have been popular it did not achieve as much popularity in history as 1971 or 1961 wars with Pakisthan.
