India Registers Over 44,000 New Covid-19 Infections For Two Consecutive Days

India, which registered less than 40,000 fresh Coronavirus earlier this week, added more than 44,000 new cases for the second day in a row, which pushes India's Covid-19 toll to 9,266,705.

According to the data released by the Union Health Ministery, India registered not less than 44,489 new Coronavirus-related infections in the span of the last 24 hours. The other day, India added 44,376 Covid-19 infections.

Despite the fluctuations in fresh Coronavirus infections, the constant increase in Covid-19 related recoveries is giving hope of beating the respiratory disease. India has the highest number of recoveries compared to other severely affected nations.

Looking at the Covid-19 related recoveries, a total of 8,679,138 patients have been recovered in the country so far, after 36,367 patients were declared cured and discharged from the hospitals in the past 24 hours.

India's recovery rate stood at 93.66 percent. The active cases stood at 4,52,344. The count of active cases translates to 4.8 percent of the total caseload of the country.

So far not less than 135,223 patients have succumbed to the respiratory disease, including 524 fresh people who breathed their last battling the disease. India's mortality rate stood at 1.46 percent.

Looking at the global scenario, a total of 60,681,568 people have been diagnosed with the novel Coronavirus. So far, a total of 41,929,695 patients were declared cured of the virus. The virus claimed 1,425,466 lives.
