Given the impact left by the ongoing pandemic on the Economy, the employment sector faced severe losses and a total of 1.9 crore Indians lost their lobs ever since the lockout was imposed.
According to the reports of the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy(CMIE), as many as 5 million salaried employees in India turned unemployed in July month alone.
Despite these hardships, it is reported that the leading Indian multinational corporation Infosys is gearing up to grant promotions for junior and well as mid-level staff members by September.
The technology services firm said it took this call to retain potential talent and if we have to take anything from these reports, more than 2.4 lakh employees will be receiving promotions.
With this, Infosys will emerge as the first Indian IT firm to grant promotions for the junior level and mid-level employees in this financial year. Reportedly, folks who have less than 10 years of experience will be given importance for the promotions.
However, there is no official information about whether the promotions will be backed by a hike in their pay scale. Some sources say, the chances of a pay hike are very thin.
Following the pandemic outbreak and a series of lockout, many IT giants halted the hiring process, and Freshers who got their joining orders were asked to not join the office until further notice.
