IPL 2020:KXIP Fall Two-Inch Short Of Victory Against KKR

In a nail-biting match, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) led by Dinesh Karthik defeats Kings XI Punjab led by KL Rahul by 2 runs. Chasing the target Punjab fell short of two runs.

KKR opted to bat first and posted a score of 164 in 20 overs. Skipper Dinesh Karthik(58) and Shubman Gill(57) played their role, while the bowlers did the rest in defending the score.

KL Rahul(74) and Mayank Agarwal(56) made a century-plus opening partnership while chasing the target posed by KKR. However, Punjab fell 2 runs short of the victory and registered its sixth loss in the season.

KKR bowlers Prasidh Krishna who took 3 for 29 and Sunil Narine who picked up 2 for 28 bowled economical spell and played their part.

In the season so far, Punjab lost six of the seven games making the chances of getting into qualifier very thin.

In the last over of the Punjab innings, 7 runs needed off the last ball. With Glen Maxwell on strike who looked in good touch, everyone thought of a super over. The ball swung from Maxwell’s bat fell two inches short and the umpire signaled it a four.
