The Board of Control for Cricket in India's brainchild Indian Premier League(IPL) played a big role in taking the short format of the game to every household. The tournament became a big hit to the level that many nations started such events. The first season of the tournament was started in 2008 and it is now one of the most popular and costly tournaments in the globe.
So far 1000 matches have been played in the tournament across the seasons. In the landmark match, the Mumbai Indians team won the match and added a new feather to its cap. But a young player caught everyone's attention with his incredible innings.
Rajasthan Royals player Yashasvi Jaiswal gave the required entertainment for cricket fans with his innings. The opening batsman was in the crease till the last over and made a lion's share of contribution to the score his team made. He made a super century and scored 124 runs in just 62 balls. His innings included 16 boundaries and eight maximums.
But Yashasvi Jaiswal did not have an easy journey to reach the place where he is now. His family moved to Mumbai from Uttar Pradesh for his cricketing classes and he used to sell pani puris in Mumbai to help his family. Now he scored his maiden century and became the talk of the town.
To help his cricket team, Yashasvi Jaiswal's family came to Mumbai and supported him. He grabbed everyone's attention with his terrific performance in first-class cricket. He scored close to 2,000 runs and continued the same form in the U-19 World Cup as well.
In the 2020 edition of the U-19 tournament, Yashasvi Jaiswal brought his best and scored 400 runs including one ton and four half-centuries. Despite being the leading run scorer in the tournament, he could not take his side to victory in the tournament as India lost the finals to Bangladesh.
Yashasvi Jaiswal also started playing good innings in the IPL but scoring his maiden IPL century made him grab everyone's attention. Even Rohit Sharma was impressed with him and said that he has taken his game to the next level and he has been seeing Jaiswal for some time.
