Is KCR using police to curb dissidence in TRS?

Update: 2022-08-17 07:29 GMT
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his BJP are known to use the Central investigative agencies for political purposes. The moment someone goes against the BJP, the ED, the IT department and the CBI are let loose to harass them.  They did it with the Trinamool Congress, the AAP and even Shiv Sena. The Central agencies force the political opponents to bend and surrender to the ruling party.

It now appears that Modi is not alone in employing this strategy. Even the TRS in Telangana uses the same strategy. The case in point is the police raid on Choutuppal MPP Taduri Venkat Reddy. Reddy has strongly opposed the candidature of Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy for the Munugode bypoll.  He said Kusukuntla is a rank outsider and does not have a good reputation among the voters. Not just that, he has even tried to mobilse other MPPs, MPTCs and ZPTCS against Kusukuntla.

Unable to convince him, the TRS revived some old cases against Taduri Venkat Reddy and sent police late on Tuesday night to get him arrested. The police went in plainclothes and wanted Reddy to come out of his house. However, Reddy, who sensed danger, rang the BJP workers, who came in large numbers. Seeing the BJP workers, the police went away. The political observers are wondering if KCR is also using the police to further his political agenda like Modi-Shah combine.

Taduri and several other TRS leaders have been opposing Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy as he is a non-local and is not known to be very popular among the people. They want a local candidate. They raised a banner of revolt against the TRS leadership and Venkat Reddy has in fact decided to join the BJP. This has rankled the TRS, which wanted to curb him by sending police to his house.
