It is now clearly emerging that the TDP, though out of power for over a year, has enough levers in rival parties. It has its moles in the BJP in AP, whom the BJP has uncovered only recently. The change in guard in the AP BJP is as a result of this realization. It has its mole in the Congress too.
Take for instance Sunkara Padmasri, one of the Congress spokespersons of the party in Andhra Pradesh. On Saturday, she launched a major attack on the YSRCP's three capitals proposal. She has turned a total supporter of Amaravati and said the attempt to shift the capital was a conspiracy hatched by the YSRCP to deprive the farmers of Amaravati. Her passionate attack of the YSRCP has only confirmed the long-felt perception that she was doing the TDP bidding while being in the Congress. The rest of the Congress leaders are ambivalent on the issue of three capitals, but Sunkara Dharmasri has very strongly defended Amaravati.
Interestingly, her attack was not just limited to the YSRCP. She had also strongly criticized the BJP for being neutral in this affair. She said the BJP cannot wash off its hands saying that the Centre has no role in the choice of capital. She said the BJP must strongly oppose the YSRCP proposal.
