A woman was appointed as the incharge of the Hindupur Assembly constituency. This move raised many eyeballs. YSRCP women leader TN Deepika was appointed as the Coordinator for Hindupur.
The new appointment also started a debate on whether the woman candidate would contest the elections against Balakrishna. There is a trend in Andhra Pradesh politics where the in-charges of the constituencies are announced the candidates for the elections. So there is a possibility.

Party founder Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao contested his maiden elections in 1983 and the next two elections as well from there. In the three elections, the party won the seat making it a strong area for the grand old party.
