Once the financial backbone of the Telugu Desam Party, Rajya Sabha MP Sujana Chowdary finds his political career at the crossroads. His MP's tenure is drawing to a close and the BJP seems to have no interest in him. The pressure of cases against him is also mounting. So, which way for Sujana?
To add to his woes, Somu Veerraju, the new president of the AP BJP, has clearly and in uncertain terms directed him not to say anything on Amaravati issue. Since Somu's ascension, Sujana has largely remained silent. If sources are to be believed, he is said to have lost all interest in the affairs of Andhra Pradesh. He now wants to move to Hyderabad and play a key role in the politics of Telangana. He is said to be lobbying with the national leadership to appoint him as the Central party affairs incharge for Telangana. He wants to take the place of present incharge Krishna Das of Kerala.
However, the big question is â will Bandi Sanjay accept him as his superior? Will the BJP in Telangana be okay with a person from Andhra region lording over it? Will leaders like Kishan Reddy and Laxman agree to his leadership? There are only questions and no answers at this point in time.
