The novel coronavirus originated from the Wuhan Province of China has spread to more than 200 nations across the nation leaving more than 30 lakh people infecting with the fatal virus. The world is trying to find out a vaccine that can cure the pandemic.
In the wake of the alarming situation, Doctor Neerav Shaw, infections specialist at the North Shore University Health System of America said that ivermectin, an inexpensive drug used to treat parasitic infections can kill the Coronavirus in two days.
Earlier, a study conducted by David Jans, a Ph.D. professor at the biochemistry and molecular biology at Monash University in Melbourne has found out that ivermectin has the power to combat the fatal virus.
"We showed that a single dose of ivermectin could kill COVID 19 in a petri dish within 48 hours, indicating potent antiviral activity," David Jans said.
Talking about the Ivermectin, the drug was first introduced in the 1970s to treat head lice, scabies, and other related infections that are caused by the parasite infection.
