Relations between CMs of Telugu States improved after the formation of YCP Government in Andhra Pradesh. Both KCR and Jagan are focussing resolving the water sharing disputes apart from planning new irrigation projects jointly. They have been adopting a stand which is beneficial to both the neighbouring states rather than clashing.
When Jagan attended the inauguration of Kaleshwaram Project, KCR proposed the idea of diverting Godavari water to Srisailam Project. Jagan responded positively to the proposal and opined there is need for research on it. In the recent review meeting, AP CM directed Irrigation Officials to analyse the possibilities and expenditure.
If the water gets diverted to Srisailam after Indravati flows into Godavari, That could be a blessing in disguise for the drought hit regions in the Telugu States. If Kaleshwaram Water gets diverted to Srisailam, Kalvakurthi-Srisailam Left Canal, Palamuru-Ranga Reddy Project and Dindi Lift-Irrigation Project in Telangana will receive sufficient water. This move is beneficial for the people dependent on Handrineva, Galeru-Nagari and Telugu Ganga Projects in Andhra Pradesh as well. Let's see if this master plan gets implemented or not..!
