YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy responded on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's historic decision of demonetization at last.
Speaking to media at Rajamahendravaram, Jagan said: 'Usually, Centre would hold talks with Opposition and seek public opinion before take a big decision like demonetization. Even measures would be taken to address the aftereffects of note ban. But, NDA Government didn't follow this procedure'.
'Soon after the announcement of Note ban, Chandrababu claims Centre implemented the advice given by him. How was he able to respond in such a quick time? Centre leaked the decision of demonetization to selective people and Chandrababu is one of them. That's why, He has written a letter to Centre on October 12th seeking ban on Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes. Just one month before the announcement, Chandrababu took all the measure to save his unaccounted money but didn't bother to take care of common man. Babu sold out Heritage shares just 3 days before the demonetization. When Naidu became CM, Heritage share is only Rs 199. It has gone up to Rs 909 in the past two-and-a-half years, which a 450 percent increase. How could we trust the claims of Centre even after witnessing the activities of Chandrababu?'.
Yuva Neta welcomed the step taken to curb Black Money but faults Centre for poor implementation of demonetization scheme. He told that lives of farmers and traders turned miserable post currency ban. '6.38 lakh villages in India operate through cash transactions. 92 percent villages don't even have banks. Only 53 percent population have bank accounts. Villages don't even have 10% of total ATMs in the country. No one knows why Rs 2,000 notes have been brought,' he told.
