Opposition Leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy took part in the video chat with NRIs over the issue of Special Category Status.
Jagan: 'Movement to achieve Special Status will be done in multiple phases. If required, MPs will resign in the last stage. Resignationsâ¦A crucial weapon. It will be used at the right time'.
Before the start of the video conference, Senior Journalist Kommineni Srinivasa Rao asked Jagan few interesting questions. He questioned, 'Why do you want to fight with the powerful Central Government? Already, You were facing few cases. Still, You have been fighting!'.
Jagan answered to the question with a smile on his face: 'I'm fighting against NDA Government despite the cases booked against me by then Congress Government. Whatever might happen, I would see it as Fate. I can't compromise on the welfare of 5 crore people for personal benefits. Out of 5 crore people, God made Chandrababu and Me as CM and Opposition Leader. Using our positions for personal gains is unacceptable'.
On this occasion, YCP Chief revealed it was TDP leader Yerrannaidu and Congress leader Shankar Rao who filed cases against him. 'As long as YSR was alive and we continued in Congress party, Me and My Father were good persons. Congress-TDP conspired when I left party to fulfill the promise given to people'.
By raising this question, Jagan sent an indication that Centre is witch-hunting him for the movement to achieve Special Status if at all any action was taken against him.
