Seniors as Regional Coordinators: Jagan unveils new plan for 2024 elections

Update: 2022-04-19 03:58 GMT
The ruling YSRCP has begun preparations for the 2024 elections in earnest. After reconstituting his council of ministers, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has now taken up the task of appointing regional coordinators for the party. These regional coordinators would be incharges for a couple of districts and will ensure that the party network and organizational strength are election ready.

The regional coordinators could be sitting ministers, MPs or those who were divested of their ministries in the recent reshuffle. If sources are to be believed, YS Jagan has already finalized the list of regional coordinators. The list of the new regional coordinators is likely to be announced any time soon, say party sources.

If sources are to be believed, senior leaders and ministers Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and Botsa Satyanarayana would be made regional coordinators. They would discharge these duties in addition to the ministries already given to them. Sources say that senior leaders Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and Rajya Sabha MP V Vijay Sai Reddy would be incharges of the central headquarters of the party.

Botsa would be regional coordinator for both Vizianagaram and Srikakulam, while YV Subba Reddy and Mithun Reddy would be regional coordinators for East and West Godavari districts respectively.  Kodali Nani and Mopidevi Venkata Ramana would be made the regional coordinators for Krishna and Guntur respectively. Similarly, Balineni, who has recently been ousted from the cabinet, would be the regional coordinator for Prakasam, Nellore and Chittoor. Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy is likely to be made regional coordinator for Kadapa district.  Senior leader Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy would be coordinator for Kurnool and Anantapur.
