MLAs Demand Liquor Shop Inside Assembly

Update: 2017-12-09 06:03 GMT
Jharkhand Legislators demand establishment of liquor shops inside the Vidhan Sabha complex. They quoted the long queues outside all the liquor stores in the state as the reason for their demand.

Recently, Jharkhand Government cancelled all the liquor shop licenses and decided to allow selling of liquor through those with licenses granted through auction. State Government-run liquor shops are less in number and this situation is leading to heavy rush. And now, Members of Legislative Assembly want one of the wine shops to be inside the Assembly premises.

There is another reason behind the demand from MLAs. Public Representatives used to get liquor stocks for free from private liquor traders. But now, The liquor shops are owned by Government and they can't have the luxury of drinking/supplying liquor for free. So, MLAs have been seeking liquor shop in Assembly to get alcoholic beverages for subsidized prices or for free.

On the other hand, People have been throwing satires at MLAs saying their attendance could improve at least after setting up liquor shop in Assembly.
