Where Are All The Kapu Leaders?

Update: 2019-09-06 04:27 GMT
By all accounts, Chandrababu Naidu's first ever visit to Kakinada after the recent election defeat was anything but a success. Though some crowds were mobilised and there was the usual showering of petals and sloganeering, a majority of the key leaders have chosen to skip his tour.

For instance, the Kapu leaders of the TDP were completely absent. Former MLA Thota Trimurthulu, who presided over the meeting of the Kapu leaders at Kakinada to discuss the future course of action for the community, was conspicuous by his absence. He is all set to leave the TDP soon. Not just that even party's MP candidate Chalamalasetti Sunil was absent. Despite being a Kakinada native, he did not attend Chandrababu's review programme.

What was more shocking was that TDP city president Nunna Dorababu, district Telugu Mahila president Adduri Lakshmi Srinivas and nine corporators of the party in Kakinada Municipal Corporation were also absent. They have been keeping away from the party activities in protest against Chandrababu giving Kakinada city MLA seat to Vanamadi Kondababu. With so many key leaders absent, the TDP meeting was lacklustre. The proceedings were perfunctory and on the whole, Chandrababu's visit has failed to enthuse party workers in any which way.
