Merger of Congress with TRS in the Legislative Council created a situation where there is no opposition for the Ruling Party. And now, The focus seems to be on the Legislative Assembly.
Political Analysts say, KCR might be planning for merger of TDP and Congress with TRS in the Legislative Assembly. Two TDP MLAs might convey their willingness to the Speaker for the merger of TDP with TRS anytime soon. There is also a possibility of 12 out of 19 Congress MLAs submitted a petition to the Speaker favouring merger with TRS. The National Party ends up losing Main Opposition status if that happens. This could be why KCR might be delaying the first Assembly Session.
TRS Supremo will add another feather to his cap if this mission is accomplished successfully as Telangana will be the only state where there is no Main Opposition either in Legislative Council or Assembly.
