The wait is finally over and we got a clear victory in the Karnataka Assembly elections. The grand old Congress party won the elections with over two-thirds majority in the Assembly House. The victory gave a much-required breath of relief to the party and also started an interesting debate.
What we hear from the political observers is that the Karnataka result will impact the upcoming elections in the state. Congress would win the elections in other states while the Bharatiya Janata would not come to power and taste defeat as happened with the recent Karnataka elections.
Telangana is one of the states that would go for states soon. The Telangana wing of Congress already pinned high hopes and the likes of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Revanth Reddy are openly saying that the Congress will repeat Karnataka's result in Telangana as well.
It has to be mentioned here that both Congress and BJP are opposition parties in Telangana and both parties are confident of winning the general elections. Amid this, the Karnataka elections happened and the Congress party recorded a superb victory with a bumper majority. This development should surely worry the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi which wants to focus on national politics after the general elections in Telangana.
But the political experts say that KCR is not seeing the situation troublesome as he has his equations. The Chief Minister of Telangana is said to be confident that BRS would emerge victorious in the elections as the votes will be shared between the BJP and Congress. KCR is predicting that both parties have a strong zone but BRS would get the advantage.
KCR's strategy is that Congress is strong in Urban areas and BJP is strong in Rural areas. The fight between the parties would benefit the ruling party and it would emerge victorious. This is said to be the reason behind KCR's confidence.
Congress enjoys a strong cadre as it ruled the state in a combined state. Even after the state bifurcation, the cadre did not change. After BRS, if there is any party that is strong at the root level then it is Congress.
Talking about the BJP, it is slowly increasing its footprint by winning a few MP seats and MLA seats. In Urban areas, the right-wing bodies are very active and it is said to be the strong zone of BJP. As both parties have strong zones, KCR is said to be confident that his strategy works.
