In what is seen as the first of its kind, the Legislative Assembly of Telangana passed a resolution finding fault with the renaming of Shamshabad Domestic airport after Legendary NTR name.
As leader of the house, Chief Minister KCR moved a resolution in Telangana Assembly today opposing NTR name for Shamshabad Domestic Airport and said that his government is unhappy because of the name change from RGI to NTR.
TRS party and Congress members rejected the proposal of renaming it after NTR name and demanded that the Union government to take back this decision.The Congress and TRS leaders alleged that though the state was bifurcated, the state of Andhra Pradesh was still trying to lord over the Telangana state.
KCR said "Assembly is condemning the Centre in not consulting the State government before changing the Airport name. The Assembly passes the resolution requesting the Centre to change its decision.We don't want Andhra leader's names in Telangana. When the public are demanding to remove the present names here, it is unfair to have a new name( NTR) for Shamsabad domestic terminal."Said KCR
