AP Government objected the construction of Palamuru Lift Irrigation and Dindi Projects on grounds that these new projects doesn't feature in the 11th Schedule of Reogranisation Act 2014. This issue was discussed during the Apex Council Meeting chaired by Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti.
KCR has done enough exercise before the Apex Council Meeting to prove Palamuru lift irrigation & Dindi were actually take up before bifurcation of United AP. While YSR's regime issued GO 159 in 2007 for Dindi project, Kiran Kumar Reddy Government issued GO 72 for Palamuru project. In addition, KCR mentioned that only Six Irrigation Projects were listed out in 11th Schedule of AP Reogranisation Act 2014. 'None of the Krishna basin projects AMRP, SRBC & Muchhimarri, Godavari basin projects Devadula, Rajeev Dummugudem, Ellampalli, Sriram Sagar and Polavaram were included in AP Organisation Act 2014. Are you ready to recognize all them as new projects?,' he asked.
To strengthen his claims, Telangana CM KCR even played a video clip of BJP's PM candidate Narendra Modi speech in the presence of Chandrababu Naidu during 2014 Election Campaign in Mahabubnagar district. Modi alleged Congress Government failed to complete Palamuru Lift Irrigation project. BJP Manifesto also promised to complete Palamuru-Dindi projects soon after coming to power. In that way, TRS Government affectively countered the 'New Projects' allegations.
