Telanagana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao laid the foundation stone for the 125-foot-high statue of B.R. Ambedkar to mark the 125th birth anniversary of the architect of Indian Constitution. The chief minister garlanded the Ambedkar statue at tank bund and paid tributes to him.Speaking on the occasion KCR has praised the efforts of Ambedkar and says Telangana is indebted to Ambedkar.
"Telangana state is indebted to Ambedkar. It is only due to the provisions made by him in the Indian Constitution that Telangana exists today. Based on the legislation that was drafted by Ambedkar Telangana was created. Without Ambedkar, Telangana would not exist" Said KCR.
KCR also announced plans to start 100 social welfare residential schools for Dalits and residential colleges. The Telangana government has decided to erect a 125-foot-high statue of B. R. Ambedkar, most likely on a rock within the Amusement Park at NTR Gardens.
