A sudden change in the tone of BRS boss and Telangana chief minister KCR is now the talk of the town. All of a sudden, KCR has changed tack and has begun attacking the Congress instead of the BJP. Till recently, he used to hammer and tongs against the BJP and used to take the party to task at every given opportunity. But now, he has attacked the Congress right, left and centre.
On Sunday, he slammed the Congress for asking the Dharani software to be thrown into the Bay of Bengal. He sought to know how the farmers would get Rythu Bandhu and other schemes if the Dharani system is abolished. He said in the absence of Dharani, it would be difficult to control the corruption in the revenue and the land department. He said it is the Congress, instead of Dharani, that needs to be consigned to the Bay of Bengal.
This sudden targeting of the Congress has been noted by the political class these days. They feel KCR started attacking the Congress once he had realized that the BRS cannot make any progress at the national level. He now feels that the Congress Party is a bigger enemy of the BRS than the Bharatiya Janata Party. Hence this sudden change of strategy, they argue.
This also indicates that at some level, KCR is buying peace with the BJP, say political watchers. He wants to extricate his daughter Kalwakuntla Kavitha, who is embroiled in the Delhi liquor scam. He also does not want his funders and financers to be spared from ED and IT attacks. Hence, he has begun attacking the Congress Party.
