KCR to attend opposition rally in Haryana?

Update: 2022-09-19 06:34 GMT
Telangana Chief  Minister KCR is all set to participate in the opposition unity meet organised on September 25 to mark former deputy prime minister Choudhury Devilal's birth anniversary in Haryana. The meeting is being organised by Choudhury's son and former Haryana CM Om Prakash Chautala. Though no official statement has come so far, it is being reported that KCR has decided to attend the meet.

However, there is one hitch. Whether KCR will attend the meeting or not will depend on whether the Congress Party will attend the meeting. Sources say that KCR does not want to be seen sharing the state with the Congress as it would strengthen the BJP in Telangana. Hence, he might opt out if the Congress attends the meeting.

Meanwhile, Chautala has already spoken to Bihar CM Nitish Kumar about the meeting. Similarly, he has also extended an invitation to TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu from neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. Similarly, TMC chief and West Bengal chief Minister Mamta Banerjee has also been invited to the programme. Thus, it would be a gathering of the anti-BJP parties and the aim is to chalk out a common strategy for the 2024 elections.

KCR, who has been planning to play a key role at the national level, is likely to utilise this opportunity to focus on the anti-BJP politics. He is said to be in consultation with other leaders of various regional parties in the country. However, the whole thing hinges on whether the Congress chooses to attend the meet. KCR is likely to stay away if the Congress attends the meet.
