Is This Why Munugode MLA's Resignation Accepted in 10 Minutes?

Update: 2022-08-09 06:41 GMT
As expected and predicted by many, Congress rebel MLA Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy bid goodbye to the Congress party and joined the BJP. After stepping down as the MLA, he met the Assembly Speaker and submitted his resignation. Within minutes after the MLA submitted his resignation, the speaker gave his nod for the resignation.

The way, the Assembly speaker accepted the resignation without any delay surprised everyone. The episode also made many think that the ruling TRS is in no mood to take any rest as far as the by-poll is concerned and for that, the resignation was accepted straight away.

The possible damage the delay in the resignation acceptance would cause is said to be the main reason behind the Assembly speaker accepting the resignation. The political observers say that keeping this in mind, the resignation might have got accepted without any delay.

Many see this as a mind game played by the Chief Minister. Though the seat was held by a Congress leader, he shifted his loyalties to the BJP. The BJP has no ground-level strength and Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy might not be a strong leader like Etela Rajender. Congress is yet to fix a suitable candidate and the ruling TRS thinks that these developments would work in its favour.

Like many political observers, the ruling TRS is of the opinion that the Munugode by-poll would give a big shock to Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy. The same opinion might have made the Chief Minister make all the arrangements for the MLA’s resignation to get accepted without any delay.

No one would have expected that the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi(TRS) would make the Assembly speaker accept the resignation at a rapid pace. This is also a big shock to the opposition parties. The parties expected some time for the resignation to get accepted.

Another reason behind the resignation getting speed acceptance is that delaying the by-poll would give time for the opposition parties to chalk out a plan to win the polls. The same happened with the Dubbaka and Huzurabad by-elections. The BJP got the required time to prepare for the by-polls.
