Telangana IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao visited Microsoft Office in Hyderabad for the launch of Garage which is a new innovation meant for ideation and experimentation.
KTR revealed 1,500 members have been working in Campus obtained by Microsoft on lease. He stressed the need for expansion and predicted Fourth Tower which is going to be established soon will create employment for 2,500 people. The Minister informed about the T-Works Project taken up by Telangana Government for new innovations such as Microsoft Garage.
Though Microsoft has presence in many cities across the World, Garage is being established only in five locations so far and Hyderabad is one among them. First Garage was set up in Microsoft Headquarters in the year 2009. Later, It's been established at Silicon Valley in US, Vancouver in Canada and Hardiliyalo in Israel. Microsoft have plans to set up Garage in Bengaluru as well in future.
In Hyderabad's Garage, Focus will be on developing App helpful for people facing vision problems, App to Organize SMS Inbox, App to transfer HD Wallpapers and Kailaja App which revolutionize communication through mobiles. In the coming days, Research activity on Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and 3D Printing will take place in Hyderabad.
