Are the decks being cleared to make KTR a minister? Highly placed sources say Yes. KTR, who is already the working president of the party, is the unquestioned No 2 in TRS. He has virtually been handling the party affairs. But, he officially is not a minister. So, taking governance related decisions is becoming a problem for him. On many an occasion, he cannot take measures that will help the people just because he is out of the government. So, his entry into the cabinet appears imminent. Sources say there could be cabinet expansion either on September 4 or on any date before September 15 as 'Pitru Paksh', considered inauspicious, will start from that date.
Along with KTR, even Gutta Sukhender Reddy, who has recently been sworn in as an MLC, too is likely to be made a minister. Former Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, TDP turncoat Sandra Venkata Veeraiah and Gangula Kamalakar may be made ministers. Similarly, Satyavathi Rathod could be made a minister from the women's quota.
KCR can have up to 18 ministers in his cabinet. Currently there are only 12 ministers. It is likely that all the 6 vacancies are filled in the next expansion.
