All eyes are now on Telangana due to the much-awaited general elections which are slated to commence this year. If everything goes well, the elections would be held by the end of this year. The major parties are busy drawing strategies on how to win the elections.
In the elections, we would see an intense fight between the ruling BRS and opposition parties. AIMIM is also said to be in plans to expand its base in other constituencies as well. This has not happened in the state as of now and people want to know what the party can achieve.
Of late, we are hearing reports that IT Minister KTR is likely to shift the constituency he contests in the upcoming polls as the alleged decision was taken as part of the BRS party's strategy to see that the opposition parties won't expand their wings.
KTR reacted to these reports are rubbished them. He said that there is no truth in this and he will stick with Siricilla. Putting an end to the speculations, KTR said that Siricilla people have been loving him and supporting him and he will be contesting the elections from there.
Recalling his political journey, KTR said that he made his first steps from Siricilla, and over the years, the affection he has been receiving from people there is increasing and he won't change the seat. Siricilla is the seat that gave me a political birth, he said.
When the Telangana movement was at its peak, KTR came to Hyderabad from the US and contested the elections from Sircilla in 2009. He managed to win the polls with a small margin. Along with the other TRS MLAs, KTR also resigned from his post. In the by-elections held in 2010, KTR won the elections with a big margin of 68,219 votes.
Over the years, KTR's image and popularity in the Assembly constituency have been increasing. In the last elections, KTR won the polls with around 90,000 votes. In a recent meeting, KTR urged people to make him win with one lakh votes. KTR cannot move to another seat by leaving all this behind.
