The AP Government has taken a very serious view of leak of information on Corona control in Kurnool district. A lot of details about the patients, their addresses and other details like their religion have come into the public domain.
Kurnool district collector G Chandrudu issued a showcause notice to special deputy collector incharge of the Covid Command Contrl Room Visweswara Naidu. An unofficial note found its way to the media houses saying that there were eight new Corona cases and that the total number of cases is 44 in Kurnool. The official records showed that there were just six new positive cases and the total was shown as 42. This gave rise to fears that there was number fudging in Corona cases. District collector, who found that the unofficial note was inaccurate, issued a notice to Naidu for the leakage.
He called for explanation from Naidu and said that this kind of unauthorised leakage was not acceptable. Kurnool incidentally is the most seriously affected district in Andhra Pradesh.
