Latest Ad Makes Starbucks New Target Of Boycott Trend!

We are living in a time where everything is facing the heat of the Boycott trend. Though it started with films, it spread to brands and companies as well. Earlier, jewelry brand Tanishq and an ad featuring Bollywood stars Aamir Khan and Kiara Advani faced  severe heat. Looking at the heat, the companies pulled down the ads.

Joining the list a famous coffee shop brand became the target of the boycott trend. Not happy with the advertisement, netizens are making trends to boycott the brand. On social media, the trend is getting thousands of tweets and people are giving reasons why to boycott it.

Starbucks is facing a boycott trend over its latest advertisement which talks about Transgender Acceptance. Soon after the release of the advertisement, it raised many eyeballs and netizens are not impressed with it and wants to boycott the brand. Besides huge reception, the ad also landed in a big controversy.

Looking at the advertisement, it starts at an outlet where a family is waiting for their son Arpit. But their son Arpit becomes Arpita and meets the. Mother accepts Arpita and shares a warm hug. But the father has some hesitation to accept Arpita.

Father finally accepts Arpita as he orders coffee on that name. With this, it is conveyed that he is ok with Arpita. "Beta, you are still my child. Only a letter has been added to your name," he tells Arpita who turns emotional seeing acceptance from her family. The #ItStartsWithYourName hashtag was also used while promoting the recent advertisement.

But people are not happy with this as many accused the company of trying to push extremist American gender ideology with the ad. Celebrities like Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri also blasted the company for the other. Netizens lashed out at the company over its hypocrisy. A few shared the news that transgender employees were reportedly removed from Starbucks.

On the other hand, a section of netizens is also supporting the company for talking about Transgenders and their acceptance. Thanking the company for the advertisement, they are also appreciating the brave decision and urged it to keep it up.
