New Year Celebrations: Liquor sales In Telangana Clocks Over Rs 750 Crore!
Given the prevailing Coronavirus situations and the emergence of new strains of the pandemic, the Telangana government led by Chief Minister KCR has imposed a few restrictions on liquor sales and operations of bars and restaurants.
However, these restrictions didn't stop the liquor sales to go up during the New Year celebrations. Compared to the previous year, the liquor business did well this year.
According to the media reports, approximately liquor worth Rs 759 crore was sold in a span of four days, starting from the 28th of December to the 31st of December. The business saw a rise of Rs 200 crore compared to the previous year.
Looking at the day-wise data, on the 28th of December liquor worth Rs, 205.18 crores were sold, followed by Rs 150 crore, Rs 211.35 crore, and Rs 193 crore on the respective days.
The Telangana government has imposed travel restrictions on several flyovers and conducted Drunk and Drive programs in the city which forced the partyholics to stay home and enjoy their drinks.
