Live Bombs found in Falaknuma Express

Just 48 hours before the auspicious Eid festival, Three bags containing live bombs have been found inside Falaknuma Express at Howrah Station on Wednesday.

Officials of Railway Protection Force and Criminal Investigation Department detected the bags containing explosives using sniffer dogs. About five socket bombs stashed in pipes measuring 8 inch * 5 inch have been recovered.

Passengers in Compartment S2 of Falaknuma Express noticed the bags at 2:30 am and passed the information to the concerned authorities. Soon after the alarm was raised, The Bomb Disposal Squad swung into action and took the explosives to an abandoned place near Platform No.1.  

Experts say, Socket Bombs can be used in used in blasts with moderate intensity. The range of explosion could also be huge depending on the quantity and quality of explosive materials used.
