Major highway mishap, but the media doesn't even know about it!!

Update: 2022-04-22 06:16 GMT
These are the days of 24X7 news and this is the era of breaking news. Even small things are blown out of proportion on the media. But, despite all these,  four girders of the under-construction  flyover on the National Highway came crushing down on Wednesday night. But, no media covered this news in any manner - not even as ticker scrolling.

The incident occurred late on Wednesday night. The flyover is being constructed in Kaikalur mandal of Eluru district as part of the Pamarru-Digamarru national highway. Four cement girders came off and fell down.  Luckily, there were no injuries or casualties as there was no one around. The 1.6 km long flyover is being constructed at a cost of Rs 66 crore.

The alert contractor covered the mishap site by erecting huge screens around the accident spot to give an impression that some important work was being done there.  He managed to ensure that no media covered this incident.  Thus, there was a complete blackout of the incident on the media.

Had this issue become public, it would have been a major embarrassment for Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The contractor averted a major PR crisis by quickly erecting screens around the crash site.  Interestingly, a secret investigation is being carried out as to why the msihap occurred. Studies are also reportedly being conducted into the construction quality of the flyover.
