Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Padnekar's 'Toilet - Ek Prem Katha!' has stirred a controversy even before it release. The movie's title and storyline didn't go down well with the people of Nandgaon and Barsana villages of Mathura.

Actually, No marriages would happen between men and women of Nandgaon and Barsana villages due to the love affair of Lord Krishna and Radha. While Krishna was from Nandgaon, Radha hailed from Barsana.

Nandgaon and Barsana villagers allege story of 'Toilet - Ek Prem Katha!' is based on marriage links between the two villages. They threatened to stall the shoot if the title wasn't altered. Some even joked that Director should have chosen the title 'Toilet - A Swachhta Abhiyan'. Madhura Sadhu, a religious leader, has gone ahead and declared Rs 1 crore reward to whoever brings the tongue of the Director.

Director Narain Singh, however, brushed aside the allegations that his movie would hurt religious sentiments. He clarifies the name of Nandgaon wasn't used in the film which is all about women's empowerment and swachhta.
