Finance Minister Etela Rajender on Monday presented Telangana Budget for the financial year 2016-17. He termed the budget as a step towards achieving Golden Telangana.
While the total budget stood at Rs 1,30,415 crore, Planned and Non-Planned Expenditures were Rs 67,630 crore and Rs 62,785 crore respectively.
Whereas, Fiscal Deficit and Revenue Surplus remained at Rs 23,467 crore and Rs 3,381 crore respectively.
Irrigation Sector was given good prominence with an allocation of Rs 25,000 crore. Rs 7,861 crore for Palamuru lift irrigation, Rs 6,286 crore for Kaleswaram project and Rs 1,150 crore for Sitarama project.
