Telangana Irrigation Minister Harish Rao addressed the media over the CAG report which criticized the TRS Government. It's then, He had a slip of tongue moment and went on to say, 'Our State Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu Garu...'. Quickly, He corrected his mistake by saying, 'Sorry...CM Chandrasekhar Rao Garu...'.
Harish Rao: 'In BJP-ruled States, Development Works are carried out by obtaining Loans. Even the non-BJP States are functioning in the same manner. Whereas, CAG found fault with Telangana Government for taking up development works by borrowing money from financial institutions. At the same time, No objection has been raised when it comes BJP-ruled States'.
For Example, Roads were laid borrowing loans in Rajasthan & Bihar. CAG considered that as capital expenditure in those states. In the case of Telangana, CAG took a different stand. 'Our State Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu Garuâ¦Sorry CM Chandrasekhar Rao Garu has written a letter to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley questioning how could they discriminate among states. CAG didn't accept when Telangana's expenditure on laying roads was shown as Capital Expenditure. It's just a technical matterâ¦such a situation wasn't there during UPA tenure,' he complained.
