The much-talked-about MLAs poaching case in Telangana saw a sensational development as the High Court granted bail to the three accused. Hearing a petition, conditional bail was issued to the three accused. Two conditions were imposed on the accused while granting bail.
Having granted them bail, Justice B. Sumalatha directed the accused to pay a sum of Rs lakhs each and submit two sureties. Receiving bail in the case is a big relief as the accused were arrested and a SIT was formed by the state government to probe the matter.
As the accused are facing allegations of not cooperating with the investigating officers and earlier they did not respond to the notices served asking them to appear for questioning, the High Court of Telangana asked the accused to appear before the Special Investigation Team officials every Monday.
Ramachandra Bharati, Nand Kumar, and D.P.S.K.V. Simhayaji were granted conditional bail in connection with the case by the High Court This development makes all the accused in the case get temporary relief.
It has to be mentioned here that the court earlier granted protection to two other accused. BL Santosh was granted protection by staying the notice the SIT served him till the fifth of this month.
Tushar Vellapally, Chief of the Bharath Dharma Jana Sena in Kerala was also granted protection from getting arrested. He challenged the lookout notice that was issued against him. However, they were also asked to cooperate with the probe.
The Alleged MLAs' poaching scam came to light ahead of the Munugode by-polls. Four TRS MLAs alleged that the accused came into touch with a proposal of shifting their loyalties to the Bharatiya Janata Party from the TRS. The issue went to the notice of the Cyberabad Police after the MLAs complained.
The accused were arrested. The issue started a new fight between TRS and BJP. While the TRS has been accusing the saffron party wants to topple the government as it did in other states, the BJP leaders are hitting back and asking what they can do with four MLAs as the support will not work for it in any manner.
