Muntra - India's First Unmanned Vehicle!

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has designed country's first unmanned ground vehicle, a remotely operated tank, in three variants.

Muntra-S: Developed for Surveillance

Muntra-M: Developed for Mine Detection

Mundra-N: Developed for operating in areas with Nuclear & Bio Weapon Threat

Combat Vehices Research and Development Establishment (CVTDE) developed and tested Muntra for the sake of Indian Army. But now, Paramilitary is keen to use Muntra at Naxal-affected areas to identify landmines.

Muntra has been tested at Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan Desert at a temperature of 52 degrees. This unmanned vehicle which is equipped with surveillance radar can be used to spy on target 15 km away.
