The hearings in the Hijab controversy are going on in Karnataka. The state high court heard a bunch of petitions that were filed in connection with the issue for the sixth consecutive day. The high court had earlier directed that no religious attire should be allowed in educational institutions.
Despite the High Court said no to religious attire, a few incidents of Muslim students trying to enter the colleges and the managements sending them back were reported in Karnataka and other places too. A similar incident is said to have been reported in Andhra Pradesh's Vijayawada.
Amid this, the non-government organisation All India Muslim Personal Law Board(AIMPLB) is said to have stepped in and urged the students to not stage any protest and they need not worry about the controversy. The board members assured the students that they will take the legal route to deal with the issue.
With the body that fights for the rights and well being of the Muslims in the country urging the Muslim students to not take any unwanted steps as they will fight the issue in the court and even approaches the country's top court Supreme Court in the matter, we can expect the controversy to get diluted a bit.
