Nagar Kurnool Collector Sridhar made headlines once again by not saluting the National Flag. He remained standstill during the flag hoisting on Telangana Formation Day at Nagar Kurnool though Minister Jupally, Two MLAs and SP have saluted the tricolor.
This isn't the first time Sridhar has done so. He didn't salute the National Flag even during Republic Day celebrations this year.
However, Collector Sridhar have a valid reason behind it. He explains it's not mandatory for a Collector to salute the National Flag as per Rule Book given to them during IAS Training. At the same time, He says IPS and cops wearing police uniform had to salute compulsorily.
Collector Sridhar might have done nothing wrong but what if others follows him without proper understanding about the rules. People in such positions need to look at things from a larger perspective.
