Andhra Pradesh Government today sought Rs. 1000 crore as interim assistance for relief and restoration of damaged infrastructure in rain-affected districts.The demand was made in a letter written by Chief Minister Chandrababu to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.In a letter wrote to Modi, Chief Minister Naidu said tentative assessment has put the loss at Rs.3,000 crore.
Naidu sought release of Rs.1,000 crore as advance for immediate relief measures."I would request you to release an interim assistance of Rs. 1000 crore to government of AP to meet the immediate requirements for relief and restoration of the damage to public infrastructure," Naidu said in his letter.
He said a detailed report in the form of a memorandum would be presented soon after the assessment was complete.Naidu said 35 people were killed due to heavy rains in three districts Nellore, Chittoor and Kadapa
