National Award for Shooting-Friendly State!

Information and Broadcasting Ministry is mulling on creating a new category in the National Film Awards encourage state governments to be more shooting-friendly. The State Government which ensures permissions were granted in a hassle free manner and creates a pleasant atmosphere for shootings will be receiving this honour.

Now, States will be competing for following the Best Practices in offering necessary permissions for film shoots. The move of Centre will favor Filmmakers to a great extent and also helps promoting the country as Global shooting destination. Measures like these will also boost tourism to a great extent.

I&B Ministry also changed the Film Festival calendar only to avoid clash of dated between International Children's Film Festival and International Film Festival of India (IFFI). National Film Awards will be presented in May every year.
