In the wake of the rapid growth of the fresh infections, Maharashtra government made it mandatory to submit Aadhaar card details, prescriptions and to purchase remdesivir and tocilizumab, drugs used for pandemic treatment.
Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration issued a circular in this regard and said to purchase remdesivir and tocilizumab dugs submitting these details is compulsory.
This development came after Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and food and drug administration (FDA) minister Dr. Rajendra Shingne chaired a key meeting on regulating the process of distributing these drugs.
The government has been receiving a lot of complaints that these drugs were hoarded illegally and selling in the black market for high prices which in turn resulted in the scarcity of drugs.
The state government has set up a toll-free number (1800222365) dedicated to registering the complaints about the problems in this regard like drug hoarding and sale of the drugs at a high price.
