Update: 2019-04-27 05:29 GMT
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) served notice to the Telangana Government over the suicides of 18 Intermediate Students. A detailed report was sought on the failure of Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) and steps taken to rectify the errors. 'It's a serious lapse on the part of the authorities amounting to violation of human rights. A thorough probe into the matter is required to punish the guilty and also to ensure that such incidents don't occur again,' opined the NHRC.

Based on the media reports, NHRC took suo motu cognizance after 18 students committed suicides in Telangana since the announcement of Intermediate Results. Telangana Government will have to submit the report to NHRC within 4 weeks. It has to mention about details such as relief measures for the mourning families and punishment offered to those who were responsible for the whole issue.

Hyderabad-based private company Globarena Technologies has been facing the heat. There were allegations that this firm isn't capable of handling the Intermediate Examination Valuation. Around 10 lakh students appeared for Inter 2nd Year Exams in February 2019. Not less than 3.28 lakh students failed.
