Mistaken airstrike kills 100 in Nigeria

In tragic incident Nigerian Airforce attacked a refugee camp mistakenly in Rann in the state of Borno. They thought that they were attacking Boko Haram militants.  As many as 100 refugees killed in this airstike and 120 injured.  Apart from the refugees, several volunteers killed in the incident.   Nigerian Army agreed later that they have made a mistake assuming the refugee camp as a terrorist camp.

Humanitarian workers from MSF and International Red Cross Society are said to be killed in this incident. Nigerian President expressed his grief over the incident and pledged federal support to the state authorities.  He said it was an operational mistake.   Boko Haram terror group has killed more than 15,000 people for the last six years.  More than two million people displaced from their homes and landed in refugee camps.

 To counter Boko Haram operations Nigerian government is taking counter measures. This  mistaken airstrike part of army's war with Boko Haram group.
