Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar appoints IPS officer as special officer for Panchayat elections!

The much-anticipated Local Body elections row in Andhra Pradesh is getting interesting day by day with several developments taking place at regular intervals.

As a sudden development, State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar has appointed IG Sanjay as the special officer for the Local Body elections to see that the polls are held without any issues.

The appointment of IG Sanjay as the special officer for the Panchayat elections, came a day after Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar announced that he would appoint an IG level officer for the elections.

Indian Police Service(IPS) Officer N. Sanjay, who is currently serving as the I.G.P met Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar today and took charge as the special officer. He is expected to render his services in his new post from tomorrow, media reports claimed.

SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar, who is not leaving any stone unturned to see that the much-awaited Panchayat elections were held without any irregularities has appointed the IPS officer as the special officer.

Taking the bad experiences he faced from the officials over the past one year concerning the Panchayat elections into consideration, Nimmagadda has appointed IPS Sanjay who is known for his clean image.

Earlier, the SEC has removed nine higher officials in the state including district collectors and superintendent of police officers, a day after the Supreme Court gave its nod for the Panchayat elections.
