No Wedding Bells Till 126 Days

Update: 2021-01-11 03:49 GMT
The wedding bells, which rang for seeks ad nauseam have fallen silent in the Telugu states. The flurry of activity for the wedding function hall owners, priests, music bands, DJs, caterers and the even managers is over.

If the pundits are to be believed, there are no auspicious muhurtams up till May 14. This means there would be a gap of 126 days. Till this period there would be no weddings, gruha pravesams and other such auspicious functions. After this wedding functions could be performed from May 14 till July 11. After that, there would be a gap till August 8.

As a result, there would be no business for the function halls in the state. Similarly, priests would also have to look for other jobs during this period. Allied professions such as music band players,, processional cars, event managers, DJs, food catering services, photographers, videographers and others too would have no income during this period.

Even otherwise these sectors suffered heavy losses in 2020 due to the Corona lockdown and due to the government restrictions on public gatherings after the lifting of the lockdown. On the whole 2021 too appears to carry bleak prospects for these sections.
