Nandamuri Balakrishna made it clear that he wishes to contest from Hindupur in Anantapur even though fans from all over state have been forcing him to contest from their districts. He, however, maintained a final call will be taken after discussing with his Brother-in-Law and TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu.
On the other hand, Hindupur Sitting MLA Abdul Gani group isn't happy with this development and they demand party leadership to offer ticket to a local leader. They even began distributing pamplets all over the Assembly segment in this regard.
Why Balayya wants only Hindupur? TDP founder for chief minister late NT Rama Rao scored a hat-trick (1985, 89, 94) by contesting from Hindupur. Even though he was defeated in Kalvakurthi (Mahabubnagar district) in 1989 polls, It's the people of Hindupur who stood by his side. So, Nata Simha wishes to continue this sentiment.
Sources say, Naidu is keen on declaring Balakrishna as Hindupur Lok Sabha candidate as he doesn't want him to pose a threat to his CM dreams. He also chalked out plans to announce Harikrishna as Hindupur Assembly ticket to bring him close to the party at crucial time. In that way, Political Chanakya aims two birds in one shot!
