It appears that the BJP will not let the opposition parties survive. Forget about surviving, the parties are not even allowed to live peacefully. Earlier, BJP used to target Congress for creating issues between the opposition parties. But BJP has done much more than that. This was proved yet again with the recent Nationalist Congress Party(NCP) row in Maharashtra. The party has a strength of 53 MLAs in Maharashtra. NCP National chief Sharad Pawar's nephew Ajit Pawar brought a rebellion in the party.
Out of 53 MLAs, 30 members are with Ajit Pawar. After bringing a rebellion, Ajit Pawar joined hands with Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde along with the camp of MLAs.Now Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena and BJP alliances are in power. Now NCP joined them. It has been widely reported that the same might happen in Bihar as well.BJP is reportedly planning to bring cracks in JDU which is led by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Earlier, the Bharatiya Janata Party did the same and brought cracks in the JDU in Assam and Manipur. By doing this, BJP took a few MLAs to its side. It is known what it had done in Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh. As a matter of fact, the BJP is not letting the non-BJP governments live peacefully. However, it is not touching regional parties that have strong leadership like YCP and DMK. BJP is trying to bring cracks in states if it gets info about weak leadership or dissatisfaction in MLAs.
Even in West Bengal, the BJP poached 27 MLAs from the Trinamool Congress. Amid this, the opposition parties are saying that if BJP comes to power in the next elections as well then Narendra Modi will not let any opposition party survive in the country. For the same reason, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is putting his best efforts to bring all the opposition parties under one roof to fight the BJP. Many say that the Bharatiya Janata Party will emerge victorious in the next elections as well if there is no unity between the opposition parties. It is said again and again that BJP can be defeated only if opposition parties are united. We have to wait and see what the next developments would be.
